Emerging Artist Display
5 January - 31 January

A display of local emerging and re-emerging artists showcasing original works in a variety of mediums. Emerging artists include those who are 18 years of age or under or a full-time student, those who have been working at their art practice for less than 5 years, artists who have not held a solo exhibition or won a prize in a major competition or artists who are reentering an art practice after some time away from exhibiting.

Every Artwork Tells a Tale
16 February - 12 March

An exhibition showcasing artworks in all mediums exhibited alongside its story and what inspired the artist to create it. The story of its creation is as important as the artwork and sharing it is a key element of the exhibition.

FOCUS Photography Awards Exhibition

Open to All Photographers

The FOCUS Photography Awards Exhibition is our annual community photographic exhibition. Open to photographers of all ages and skill levels, this family-friendly community exhibition showcases an array of diverse images from amongst a number of different categories. Individual award prizes are generously sponsored by Mission Beach businesses.

Island Impressions
Artworks by Yuki Horiki - Solo Exhibition
26 April - 21 May

Yuki Horiki is a contemporary artist born in Japan and living in Mission Beach. Her ethereal artworks emerge from impressions left in her memory of times spent living in Cape York, the Torres Straits, Bedarra Island and Mission Beach over the last 35 years.

Our biennial exhibition of Fibre and Textile Art, featuring unique works from a diverse group of talented fibre & textile artists from the Cassowary Coast and beyond. This year's exhibition showcases their signature high quality craftwork and textile art including embroidery, printing, weaving, silk painting, knitting, crochet, basketry, felting and more. Proudly sponsored by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.

25th Anniversary Exhibition

25th anniversary celebration of our roots - the original 1999 formation of the Mission Beach Artists and Craftworkers Association (MBACA). The exhibition features a retrospective look at the original art and craft group in Mission Beach. Visit our history page for more insights into the group and its evolution.

Mission Arts Annual Awards Exhibition

Since opening its doors to the community in August 2011, Mission Arts has showcased the works of talented local & regional artists in an annual awards exhibition. Prized awards, made possible through corporate sponsorships and contributions by local businesses and individuals, are extended to artists in various categories.

The 2024 Mission Arts Annual Awards Exhibition is presented by the Mission Beach Community Arts Centre and made possible through the generous contributions of our major exhibition sponsor, Mission Beach Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), and our other award & supporting sponsors.

Our biennial Up!cycled Exhibition showcases a diverse range of artworks, across a wide range of mediums, that have been made more beautiful, useful and/or interesting than their original components/parts. These unique creations have been cleverly and creatively reimagined, revamped or revitalised with the resulting artworks even more remarkable than one might expect.

Artworks by Bruce Parry - Solo Exhibition

This stunning collection of original artworks by local artist Bruce Parry showcases works in acrylic and watercolour and features the landscape as abstract. These works are inspired by aerial views of desert, tropical coasts, and the ancient Kimberley landscape.
