Castaways: Accidental Death of an Idiot is a comedic murder mystery that blends slapstick humour, absurd scenarios, and satirical twists. Set aboard a makeshift tropical train called the "Orient Expresso," the marooned crew of the S.S. Minnow dons the personas of iconic detectives for a "My Favorite Detective" costume party. Chaos erupts when the bumbling Gilligan dies under suspicious—and hilariously convoluted—circumstances during the party.

The castaways, embodying their chosen detective archetypes, launch into a farcical investigation, fuelled by personal rivalries, ridiculous accusations, and growing paranoia. As they unravel (or complicate) the mystery, they contend with a band of hapless pirates, cannibals who double as musicians, and their own deep-seated frustrations. A surprise supernatural twist adds yet another layer of hilarity and confusion. With sharp dialogue, over-the-top characters, and a fast-paced plot, the play keeps audiences laughing while poking fun at classic mystery tropes and pop culture references.

Gilligan (as Scooby Doo)
The clumsy and hapless castaway whose constant blunders drive the plot—and ultimately lead to his untimely and comically absurd demise.

Skipper (as Sherlock Holmes)
The self-appointed leader, taking his detective persona a little too seriously.

Mrs. Howell (as Sherlock Holmes)
The overbearing socialite who insists on playing the brilliant detective, often clashing with her husband. Convinced she's the smartest detective of all.

Mr. Howell (as Watson)
Mrs. Howell’s supportive but often indignant sidekick, reluctantly playing second fiddle to her grandiose detective ambitions. Occupies himself keeping track of his money.

Ginger (as Sherlock Holmes)
The glamorous actress who thrives on dramatic flair and suspicion, revelling in her role as a seasoned amateur detective. She plays up every moment like a film noir femme fatale.

Mary Ann (as Watson)
The sweet, eager optimist, who may or may not have a hidden dark side.

Professor (as Miss Marple)
The rational scholar, irritated that he ended up in a dress, yet begrudgingly embracing the role of Miss Marple with his own brand of dry wit and scholarly precision.

Roland
The charismatic leader of the 'Fine Young Cannibals', who may or may not be an actual cannibal.

Members of Roland's cannibal entourage, who unexpectedly morph into a rock band.
